FET Sibling Journey Take 2: And So It Begins

Today marks CD1 (Cycle Day 1) of our Frozen Embryo Transfer Cycle. Meds start on Wednesday and it will move quickly from there. I am trying to be positive and optimistic, but some days are better than others. Christy is excited so that helps a lot! She has been getting healthy and is ready to go! Christy and Toby did some cute before shots so we can have a comparison (fingers crossed!) Also I stocked up on FRER pregnancy tests (first response early result). Nothing happens until about 2 weeks from now, when there is a lining check. So until then, here are the pictures!

Pre-pregnancy profile shot

75lb weight loss since 1/6/13

Toby's pre-pregnancy profile! :)

Did I get enough FRER pregnancy tests?! :)

So there ya have it, we are officially back in the saddle!

FET 2014: A Sibling Journey (Try #2)

We are days out from try #2 for Operation: Sibling Journey! Christy has SIX more days left of bcp and then once her period starts a couple of days after that, estrogen begins! I have mixed feelings about this try, but I am trying to be positive. What will be will be, I know.. I am going to try to blog all the way through since we aren't traveling for the transfer this time. I PROMISE to post updates better this time since I will have internet and I will post hpts this time as well once we start them...

Transfer is expected to be sometime in the 3rd week of January!

Stay tuned!

Slowing Down And Taking It All In

I can't believe it's almost Christmas!! I have SO not been in the Christmas spirit! November was SUCH a crappy month, but I am trying to get with it. I really am just wanting December to be OVER so we can get on with January and our next FET! I feel like I need to slooooow down and enjoy the now. We got our tree up after Thanksgiving and usually that's all it takes to get me in the spirit, but not this year. We put lights up on the house so Santa knows where Greyson lives (sooo cute hearing hubby explain this to him when he showed him the lights!). A blip on the spirit scale. Then I celebrated my 40th(!!!) birthday on Dec 7th and It was definitely something I was trying to just brush past, LOL!!Greyson got sick and was sick for a couple of weeks! He is JUST NOW starting to get back to his old self. It was scary and terrible and I'm so thankful that he is OK. All of that on top of our crappy November just made me more BAH HUMBUG..

Well the big boys will be home on Thursday. My holiday shopping consisted of ONLINE and 2 trips to two different stores and I was DONE. I did majority of my shopping online, it's the way to go for sure! While we were out we took Greyson to see Santa and even though he was still feeling under the weather, he smiled the cutest smile and I felt that ice crack just a bit around my "Bah Humbugness" Then, I wrapped all the stuff and Greyson is in awe of the tree and everything under it. This made me think of next Christmas and how excited he is going to be and the years to follow. I can FINALLY say I am excited about Christmas! Even though I still want it to be January, I am really looking forward to spending Christmas with my 3 boys and my hubby as well as my niece, her husband and my 2 great-nephews! Here are a few shots of what's been going on the last few weeks! I hope you all have a very Happy Holiday!

BEST...THANKSGIVING...EVER

SO much to be thankful for this year... We are just enjoying the holidays before we get back on this crazy roller coaster. This year we are focused on what we ALREADY have, instead of what we hope to have. This is what we have to be thankful for:

FET 2013 Update

So sorry I haven't updated! Things got CRAZY when we went to TX. Family illnesses, family drama and lots of other things.. Anyway, our FET DID attempt to take, but sadly it ended in a chemical pregnancy. I have been in contact with my clinic and we have a new game plan that I am comfortable with. We will try again 2014 so everyone can enjoy the holidays without being in the midst of a cycle.

I have a few posts swirling around in my head, but I need to organize my thoughts so i can explain the TX trip properly.. I will say the time we spent with Christy and Toby and our nieces and nephews was AWESOME! The few friends I got to see was much needed time well spent as well, but majority of the trip was SUPER STRESSFUL due to in-law drama.. Details to come..

Happy 1st Birthday Greyson!

One year ago today, we were so excited and nervous and deliriously tired from not sleeping the night before, in anticipation or meeting our son. A screaming little red head came in to our lives and changed our world forever! You are one of THE BEST things that has ever happened to us. It's crazy how much we love you little one.. A 1 year old, you are 31" tall (half your Mommy's size already!!) and 20lbs. You can say SO many words like "NO!" "WOW" and "WHOA!" a few of your favorites. You LOVE to eat anything we give you and you have a new found love for chocolate milk. Daddy is introducing you to his favorite (strawberry) really soon and I am sure you are going to love that too. You love fruits and veggies and meat! You are a total foodie and I love that. You have the BEST laugh EVER. You totally make everyone crack up when you do. I could go on and on all day about how awesome you are, but I will let a few pictures do that talking for me!

Happy Birthday Greyson Kane! Mommy and Daddy love you to the moon and back!

FET 2013 A Sibling Journey

Our frozen embryo transfer was this morning! I was SO worried about my embryos surviving the thaw, but I need not have worried. The clinic thawed one straw that had our 5BB and 4BB embryo in it and they thawed beautifully! The RE said they were approximately 80% re-expanded and they performed assisted hatching on them both to aid them in breaking out of the zona. The RE explained that they were very good due to the fact that the zona was already very thin and the embryo was intact after thawing.

We got to the clinic a little bit early and we were able to bring Greyson inside to see everyone again which was really nice. I made sure to be extra sensitive regarding bringing him so had hubby wait downstairs until me and Christy could check it out and see how many patients were inside. We got there at a good time and there were no patients in the waiting room so we could sneak on in. We let him see the embryologists and nurses and even the two REs that helped in getting him here!

We got situated in the patient room and waited for the Dr. We got our picture of our embryos and waited for our RE. The transfer was super quick and then the customary 30 minute wait. We joked around during the transfer and after while we waited for the time to be up. Afterwards we went to lunch and were able to meet up with Krystal It's ALWAYS awesome to talk to her, but even more amazing to meet up with her again! We always laugh and have a great time, I just wish it was longer, BUT I will take what I can get!

Now we are relaxing in the hotel and have Christy resting and waiting on her hand and foot. We will be POAS in a few days and beta is in 9 days! SO stay tuned, we will be posting pics of course!

Now what you all really wanna see,

The embryo pictures!

Next up? POAS Chronicles! Please send some sticky vibes and baby dust our way!

Until next time!

Here We Go!

When this post goes live, I will be on the road to TEXAS! We are doing an FET (frozen embryo transfer) in hopes of giving Greyson a brother or sister! Things have been moving along since September, with getting contracts updated and doing consults and baseline appts with the RE. Meds have already been started for Christy our sis-in-law and she has her lining check TODAY! If all looks good our embryo transfer is scheduled for WEDNESDAY! We still have a few hurdles to get over (lining check- please send up some good vibes that everything looks OK!) and then the embryo thaw (please, please let them survive the thaw!) but I am hopeful that we will have a great transfer!

Very excited to see our family again and to meet up with a few friends during our stay! We are NOT going public on FB so if we are FB friends PLEASE do not mention this on my page. We plan on making an announcement if it works sometime around 12 weeks like we did last time.. I have wanted to go "public" to you guys for a long time, but we wanted to make sure everything was going to fall in to place first. I will update during our stay in TX and OF COURSE post POAS pics!! OK everyone, time to send out those sticky vibes and babydust, we are back on this rollercoaster!!!

Next update will be from Texas!!

Proud Mama

I sent off a boy to Ft. Jackson, SC on August 12, 2013.. I got back a MAN... A SOLDIER! A few pics from my sons boot camp family day and graduation. It was a tough 10 weeks, but we made it through and he has made us all SO PROUD!! He will be gone for 4 months at his training (called AIT aka Advanced Individual Training) and then get his permanent duty station (hopefully some place close to home! Or at least within driving distance!!)

So here he is and some of the family! Back to business as usual and I will be blogging MUCH MORE!

We Interrupt This Post For A Special Update

Originally, I planned on a different post, but I will save that for later on tomorrow (Or today depending on what time zone you are in!)

Greyson fell yesterday (or earlier today if you are West Coast!) and busted his mouth pretty badly.. There was blood everywhere and I couldn't see where it was coming from. The more I wiped, the more he bled! I thought he had ripped the top of his lip and would need it sewn. That was not the case! He busted his TEETH on our dining room floor (we have Travertine tile and it is NOT forgiving..AT ALL!) and his gum was bleeding! It looked like something out of a horror film where the person starts choking on blood and it spills out of their mouth....Yeah... EXACTLY LIKE THAT, except it was MY BABY! I didn't panic (much!) and I had my friend drive us to the ER. They saw him quickly and did x-rays and determined he did NOT have any breaks, fractures or broken teeth (Thank God!)  BUT... He still could lose his tooth since their is severe trauma to his gum.. :( They gave him antibiotics as a precaution, so he doesn't get an infection. We can't let him chew on anything hard (HA, explain that to a teething 11 month old!) and we aren't supposed to touch his tooth at all. We will be watching him for the next several weeks to see if the tooth becomes discolored. If it does, it will need to be removed. Say some prayers for my sweet boy or send up some positive vibes for him please!!!

Here is a picture from tonight and some others from this past week!

After I cleaned the blood up once we got home from ER

He has started climbing UP and IN!

He hasn't however, figured out the dismount!
