FINAL FET COMPLETED

Hey y'all I'm back! So let me fill you in on what has been going on:

So we decided we wanted to do the FET (Frozen Embryo Transfer) in January to avoid the stress of cycling over the holidays. So Christy was on BCP and stopped on Dec 28. Her cycle started on Dec 30th. On Jan 1st she started estrogen to build her lining up in preparation for the embryo transfer. She was on estrogen for 14 days and had her check on Jan 14th. Her lining was 15mm (YAY!!) and triple striped or triple lined or trilaminar, whichever term you know (they are all the same thing, LOL!!) which is EXACTLY what you want for transfer! So all was a go! Progesterone started that day and transfer was Saturday, Jan 18th!

THE EMBRYOS:
So we had discussed previously, that due to the many chemical pregnancies that we have had with our embryos, that we wanted to transfer our remaining THREE embryos (blastocysts or day 5 embryos). Most people would frown at this and say we are crazy. Here's the thing: I was OVER 38yo when my eggs were retrieved. After you hit 35 they consider you AMA (Advanced Maternal Age!) so I already had a strike against me. Add to that the fact that when I was 37 I had chemicals for TWO FETs. Also, the embryos that we transferred in November where EQUAL TO OR BETTER than what was left and those resulted in a chemical. And lastly, my embryos were frozen in pairs and ONE single. So the remaining were as follows:

5BB/5CB (FROZEN TOGETHER! WHY!?!?!)
5BB frozen alone.  That means IF we wanted to only transfer the two 5BBs, they STILL would have had to thaw the 5CB and refreeze it or discard it. I called the embryology lab the morning of transfer to get an update on the embryos. I was told that the two 5BBs looked excellent and that the 5CB was "fair". I asked why? She explained that upon thaw, they like to see the cells "fluffy and light or transparent" this embryo was FLAT and had darker cells.. Most times darker or dark cells indicate damage or dead cells. Since it was less than 50% it was still able to be transferred.

We were NOT able to make it to the transfer this time, since my MIL has since moved in with us (whole 'nother post for a whole different day, lemme tell ya!) and we were in TX for 3wks in Nov so hubs doesn't have a ton of time built back up for vacay.. It was all good, my BIL got to go with Christy this time and he had never been before so that was cool we all thought. OK so what you all are waiting for anyway! Here is a picture of the embryos:

Hoping and Praying that at LEAST ONE of these sticks around!

After embryo transfer! Hoping we see a LOT more of this shirt! :)
