IT'S OVER.............

Well, our surrogate was supposed to be here yesterday, and she has not showed up or called... I can't believe it. You read stories about women taking advantage of people, but you never think it's going to be you..I won't go into anymore detail, but suffice it to say that things ended and not well.. She was NOT a surrogate and I am not sure if she ever was one... I was devastated and my now fiance' is alarmed and hesitant to move forward. I convinced him that not all women were out to scamm couples and someone would be there to help us! The wedding is in 3 days and my family starts coming in this evening.. I will have to put this grief behind me and start over with my search.... On a positive note the recipient is wonderful and I have decided that even though things have not worked out for me, I am going to donate to her still and since I don't need any meds, there will be no compensation paid at all. She deserves to be a mother and she is one of the kindest people I have ever talked to! Please pray for me that we will one day have our dream of another baby..

Well I talked to the surrogate and her and her hubby are on the way! SHe said they got held up due to waiting on their tax return, so it will be there at 2PM and they are pulling out after that. I am soo excited.. I was having some second thoughts and was thinking maybe we were being scammed, but it is all coming together. The recipient and I have been talking and have decided that since my surrogate is on the way, we are moving ahead so they can be prepared at the retrieval and be there with us in TN!

Well this isn't that interesting. The recipient and I have been emailing back and forth, with info on each others family, trying to get to know each other a little better. Things are going so good with her and I! On the surrogacy front, the GS is on her way here from her state and she is bringing the contract with her! I am so excited that she is coming and we are going to be embarking on this journey together!

A Reply!!!!!!!!

I received a reply from the couple! They were thrilled with the prospect of me helping them! They couldn't believe I was not asking for any compensation, but wanted to find out more about me and my desire to do this. We exchanged info and agreed to talk via phone. I also received the official email saying our loan was approved for the cycle, so all we needed was the surrogate to sign off on the contract and things were moving right along! I talked to the PGS (potential gestational surrogate) and she was thrilled that we got the loan, but wanted us to send the retainer to her ASAP, so she could move to our state and be near us during the pregnancy. I called to the recipient and we talked for a while, she is soo nice! She didn't have a problem with paying for the meds and we were excited to try to work things out with her clinic and mine (I was talking to a clinic in TN)

Answering the Ad

I answered the ad today! I emailed the couple and told them about my surrogacy situation. I simply told them that if they covered the cost of meds, I would give them whatever eggs were retrieved minus 5 or 6 for my hubby and I ( OK, I know I was naive back then and hadn't really researched the fertiliaztion rates and everything that goes with being an egg donor, but hey I was trying to help, and that's a start).
